Speaking of New Year's resolutions, I decided to jot down a few of mine. They say if you write them down, you are more likely to stick to them, so we'll see.
Here's my list:
.) Get Healthy - isn't that every ones'? Seriously though, I want to eat better and start taking vitamins and work out regularly. I am not obsessed with how much weight I want to loose, but more so just living a healthier life style.
.) Travel More - Ian and I rarely take vacations and when we do, they are usually within driving distance and only for 2 or three days at a time. There are so many places we want to see and things we want to do, plus family to see!
.) Finish My Unfinished Projects - Before Ian and I moved in together, we decided to refinish all of our furniture to make it match. As the wedding plans took precedence over finishing the furniture, it left us with a few pieces only half way done. My goal this year is to get those remaining pieces done, plus my incomplete photo albums and scrapbooks, and misc. craft projects.
.) Finish Decorating the House - Believe it or not, almost a year has gone by since Ian and I moved into our 1st apartment together and it is still not completely decorated. Our bedroom needs the most and then there are the few touches needed in various areas of the house.
.) Read the Bible - I rarely read the Bible, so I don't know very much about it and I don't know where to find certain scriptures, etc. I want to learn more and get closer to God by doing so. I think I just need to set aside some time each day to read and make a commitment to doing so.
.) Get Into a Routine - I need routine in my life or I stress out. Since Ian and I got married, I have managed to let my routines slide a little bit, because everything changed - we moved into a new place, I had a husband now, a new drive to work, etc. I needed to develop new routines. However, if you know Ian, he is the king of "no routines" and "procrastination", so this has made it difficult to settle into a strict routine. In some ways it is good and has helped me relax, but in other ways, it has stressed me out immensely! I need to figure out what I need in a routine and then stick to it.
.) Grown Up Stuff - Now that Ian and I are married, we have a little more responsibility. Ian and I have already discussed our financial goals for the year and have written out a plan. Our main goal is to save money; we want to travel, so we need to save for that, and we need to save for emergencies and for a house one day. We have also decided that we want to start investing, take out life insurance on one another, and get a living will.
.) Get Into a Small Group - or a Bible Study, as some people know it. Ian and I have floated around to a few different small groups since we got married last year, but none were an exact fit. This year, we are ready to try again and can hopefully find something that fits us. We are eager to meet more newly weds and connect with them.
.) Stop Being Late - If you know me, I run late to everything. It is kind of a joke in my family, because we all run late. It doesn't matter what I do, I still end up being late. And the more you push me, the slower I become. I swear I don't do it on purpose either. I just want to figure out something that will help me get to places on time or even early!
.) Use This Blog - I want to try and blog regularly to keep family and friends informed of what goes on in our lives and share our pictures, etc. But, I also want to use it as a journal, so that I can look back on this and see all of our experiences, thoughts, and just our life.
