Our Most Wonderful Valentine's Day!

Ian and I actually celebrated Valentine's Day the day before because Ian knew he had to work late on the actual day. It was the best Valentine's that we have ever had, I think. We planned our night together and agreed to stay home and do mellow gifts. Ian was in charge of dinner, of course, and I was in charge of our project - we decided to paint a picture together! So, dinner was great! Ian made
"sweet heart" steak, garlic mashed potatoes, and asparagus. We sipped champagne while listening to our wedding soundtrack and had plain strawberries for dessert (Ian gave up sugar for Lent - crazy for a pastry chef, I know, but he is doing amazing!). After dinner, we sat down and started painting this huge canvas we had gotten for the occasion. At first, it was looking good, but slowly we destroyed it. It is not a very good looking piece of art, but it was fun to do and I would do it again with him! All in all, it was a romantic, relaxing evening with my spouse and I enjoyed our time together very much!

Happy Valentine's Day!

My Number One

1.) My hubby - My best friend. We have been together almost 6 years now and I love him more now then ever before. We have been through the thick and the thin and make it out each time holding onto each other. He brings a smile to my face when I need it and supports me in everything. Even though he sometimes drives me crazy, he is the only one for me.

Number 2 and 3

3.) My ever growing family - I actually do love my family, even though they drive me crazy. I have been blessed to have so many people who care about me. And although, there are too many birthdays to buy for and Christmas is expensive, I love everyone's unique personalities and how much they have to offer. I think I don't I appreciate them enough.

2.) Titus - I love my dog Titus because he is just the cutest thing to me! He has such a personality, you wouldn't believe it. He is so mellow and mostly sleeps, but he is a snuggle bug too and will curl up in your lap and rest his head in your neck like he is trying to hug you! He also sings, which is just the funniest thing. Ian and I are thinking of sending a video of him singing to America's Funniest Videos. Since they usually pick the worst ones, we have hopes of winning!

Day 11 of the Countdown

4.) Stevie Nicks - I have loved Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks for as long as I can remember. My Motsy says I listened to them while in the womb. She pretty much made Fleetwood Mac, so it is obviously I would love her solo stuff. I think she was so cute when she was younger and for some reason, I am just fascinated by her. My father-daughter dance song was Landslide and one of mine and Ian's songs is her dou with Don Henley, Leather and Lace.

Number 5

5.) Bath and Body Works - I am obsessed with Bath and Body works. I can not have enough, despite what Ian says. I love almost all the scents they have. Vanilla is my all time favorite. It is just such a mellow scent and goes with any mood, plus it is also Ian's favorite. My second favorite is probably sweet pea. I love the antibacterial line they have too. I have a few in my drawer at work and keep one in my car at all times. Plus, they always have great sales and I can not pass that up!

Day 9

6.) Redbull - I love Redbull! I love the taste, I love the buzz of energy it gives me, and it goes great with vodka! Many a days work would not have gotten done without the help this wonderful drink!

Number 7 and 8

8.) God - I love God. It seems simple enough. I say I do when I am in church and in my prayers, but do I really tell anyone I love God? Not really. I would hope that my actions speak louder than words, but I know I am horrible example of that. It is a good thing we are all sinners and that we are all forgiven. I love God, not because I am supposed to, but for all the mysterious things that have happened in my life. There are things that just can't be explained other than by his power. I am forever greatful for his love and forgiveness.

7.) Onions and Garlic - I couldn't decide what one I loved more, so I choose both. Seriously though, onions and garlic are the best thing on earth! If anyone knows Ian and I, they know that we love both, onions and garlic. When we found out that there was a Garlic festival, we had to go. It is so much fun and the food is amazing. Garlic ice cream, anyone? We missed it last year, due to some bad planning, but this summer, we will be there again and I can't wait! I love onions so much, I can eat them raw and my mom said when I was little, I would eat them like an apple. Ian can throw onions in anything and I will probably love it. My all time favorite though is his grilled cheese sandwiches with carmelized onions. Yum!

Number 9 and 10

10.) Michaels - I absolutely love Michaels! They have so many cute things and I can never walk out empty handed. Ian knows that a quick trip to Micheals is never actually quick and we always leave with more than we came for. Most of the decorations in my house probably came from Michaels or from an idea I saw there.

9.) Crafty Things - I love to do crafty projects. I like scrapbooking and making cards and just doing random projects. I just think the papers and embellishments are so cute. Right now, I am favoring a more vintage look, but am getting into modern. I wish I had more time to do more of these types of projects.

Big Bear

This past weekend, Ian and I went to Big Bear with our good friends, Chris and Jocelyn. We had a blast! On Saturday we went snowboarding and the weather was perfect. The girls didn't make it off the bunny slope, but we enjoyed it, none the less. Sunday, we woke up to it snowing lightly, which was exciting because niether Jocelyn nor myself, had ever seen it snow before. So, of course, we had to build a snowman!

4th Day of Countdown

12.) Lost - I love this tv show! Ian and I caught the premier about 4 years ago on accident and thought it was a made for tv movie. When we found out it was a tv show, we began watching it regularly. It is so suspenseful and written very well. I am so glad the break is finally over.

11.) Catch Phrase - Our friends Jocelyn and Chris introduced us to the game and we just can't get enough of it now. The idea of the game is to describe the given word/phrase to your team, without using that word/phrase. When they guess it, you pass to the opposite team and so on until the time runs out. We usually team up girls against guys and the girls usually kick butt. We have played this game so much, that I think we have conquered the whole game.

14 Days of Love

In the spirit of Valentine's day, I decided to count down random things that I love, starting with number 14:14.) Coffee - I love love love coffee! I like my coffee with flavored creamer the best, but regular cream and sugar will do the trick just as well. Ian wakes up earlier than I do most days and he usually always has a pot of coffee on for me when I wake up. If he is feeling really nice, he will bring me a cup in bed, fixed just the way I like it!

13.) Tulips - One of my favorite flowers. Plumerias run a close second though. For my wedding, I had dark orange and yellow tulips as my flowers. Some were yellow with the orange tips and they were absolutely beautiful. They are just a fun flower. Plus, my engagement ring is a tulip setting, so the gold looks like a tulip with a round diamond in the center.
