OC Fair

We went to the OC fair twice this year. The first time, Ian and I went by ourselves to see the demolition derby. We had never seen one before and thought it would be fun. It was free, so the line was extremely long. We knew it would be though, so Ian bought me a folding stool that he carried in his backpack, so that I could sit in line! So sweet! The derby took forever to get started and we almost left, but when it finally did, it was worth it. I don't know exactly what was so great about cars smashing into each other, but it was fun!

We went to the fair again the next weekend with our friends, the Sukraws. We have gone every year with them for the past few years. Since I am pregnant and it is hotter than hell here right now, we went in the evening. We pretty much just looked at the animals and the exhibits and of course, ate lots of fattening, but yummy deep fried foods! We even tried chocolate covered bacon! It needed more bacon flavor though. I also had a BBQ pulled pork crepe! I didn't know they made savory crepes and it was awesome! Ian had a deep fried White Castle burger, which was so weird, but surprisingly, really good!

We had a blast as always, but we couldn't believe how expensive everything had gotten. It cost almost $10 for two of us to ride the ferris wheel! That's ridiculous! Food was outrageous too. Luckily, we were able to bring in our own water bottles, so we didn't have to spend $5 for a tiny water while we were there. And I was shocked how many people were rude to me! I am not looking for sympathy for being pregnant, but seriously, people were pushing me out of the way, or running for a table when I clearly was going for the same table. It was just absurd. Other than that though, we had a great time and actually, can't wait to go next year with our little one for the first time!

4th of July

This 4th of July we went to Ian's brother's house. Ian worked during the day, so we didn't get there until the afternoon. We hung out with the kids and BBQed and enjoyed yummy foods. Then we walked to the top of this hill by their house to watch fireworks. We were able to see fireworks from just about every surrounding city! It was pretty neat, because every direction you turned, you could see more fireworks. After that, we had our own firework show in front of the house. Ian had bought a huge pack of fireworks, because we can do fireworks where we live. Some were small and lame, but there were actually a handful of really awesome ones! The boys just loved watching them and it was so fun watching their faces as they stared at the lights!

Pre-4th of July

Every year for the 4th of July, we usually go to our friend's Don house in Dana Point and watch fireworks. This year, he had a wedding to go to on the 4th, so we had our celebration the day before. It's always a good time at Don's house and the boys have so much fun together while the girls sit around and chat. This time was no different!
